Well here I am writing my very first blog post. Yay Me.
Today I have been doing some editing on The Wedding Gown. I am still not sure whether I’m happy with it or not, but I guess time will tell, and there is still a long way to go.
What makes The Wedding Gown even more of a challenge for me is not only am I writing outside of my genre, which is fantasy, but I am trying to fill a certain criteria.
I find that when I am writing, I see the scene as an image, and then I have to try to find the words to explain what I see to the reader. Sometimes, the scenes flow smoothly, but more often than not, like at the moment, the words just won’t come to me; and I find this very frustrating.
The fact that I am unwell at the moment does not help the situation either.
So where to from here? How can I break this funk? Thankfully, I have a great support network within my writing group Townsville Speculative Fiction Group. These amazing people give me feedback and suggestions. If you do not already have a writing group, I strongly recommend finding one close to you. You wont regret it.
Well, I had better get back to it. Hopefully this little break away has helped refresh me enough.
Wishing you all the best until my next post.
